Epilepsy Awareness Day

Our Elisabeth has worked hard to bring a larger awareness of epilepsy to our county.  She has stepped way beyond the parameters of daily life to shine the light of awareness and love to the condition of epilepsy.  The County Board of Supervisors has declared today, March 25, 2011, Epilepsy Awareness Day.  In solidarity  we are all wearing purple today, because purple is Kaitlyn's favorite color.

Thank you all for your love and support.  I will post some photos of Kaitlyn later today!
Love and hugs,
LPC

My daughter was diagnosed with epilepsy at 9. She would tell everyone and she was really comfortable with it. We were blessed that the meds eventually got tuned in and she was seizure free for the most part. Just a few petite mals. During her teenage years her wiring seemed to chang and she began getting normal EEG readings. She has been off meds for about 10 years now and she just had her first baby. They kept a close watch on seizures though, because they thought they might return during pregnancy.

I remember how scared we were when it all began, but it was just fine. Recently a son of my daughter's friend was diagnosed and she was reassured by my daughter.

I didn't know about today but providentially I am wearing purple!

I'm covered in paint and wallpaper scraps. Alas no purple. But I'm there with you in spirit.

I think purple maybe Emerson's color!

The dogs look like they are being veerrry patient with mom, for a good cause. You are doing a good job promoting epilepsy awareness, grandma. The picture of Kaitlyn is very pretty. First time I've seen her posted.

You know, I just didn't have it in me to do Purple Day. I'm tuckered out but supportive. Thank you for your energy. Thank you.
