Tigger and Meat Pie

Oh am I getting good!  Though now there is some question around having come up with this 'font' but, at risk of giving up too easily, I am just letting it be.  Here are Tigger and Meat Pie.  In this moment, Tigger is apparently feeling magnanimous as he is in close proximity to a dog and not slapping anyone, at the moment.  Meat Pie is Meat Pie, loving that wood stove.

new camera, grey and cold skies warmed by French Press and packing in wood

I have purchased a new camera. It isn't exactly new, but it is very new to me. A Nikon D50, perhaps more camera than I will ever get used to, perhaps not. My intention is to regale you all with fabulous images of my adorable and most incredibly trained and obedient canine friends, Meat Pie and Luna. So far the only problem is that Luna is so camera-shy that she hides in the Cannas with her spotted round butt facing me. The other small problem, soon to be remedied, is figuring out how to get said images into the computer and onto my blog. Ha! No problem!

Grey skies are inviting me outside. Too soon I go to work, so sooner than that I will traipse to the river with almonds in my pocket.

Regale: To delight or entertain; give pleasure to.... to entertain sumptuously with food and drink...

thinking today

EXAMINING BELIEFS
Every thought has a biological response. Every mood either enhances or
inhibits your health. Your attitude produces a corresponding reaction in your body.

Maintaining a healthy body isn’t just about what kind of food you eat, or whether you get regular exercise. Equally important is what you think about on a regular basis.

Statistics show that happy people tend to be healthier people. People who have a positive attitude heal faster than others.

If you really want to be healthy, find out what brings you happiness, then do it. Joy is the essential ingredient for health.

What have you done today that was fun? What made you laugh? Who did you see today that you love?

Filling your life with love and joy is the most productive thing you can do to create health.

INSPIRATION FOR TODAY

...your health is the sum total of all the impulses, positive and negative, emanating from your conciousness. You are what you think. Deepak Chopra

goodby Don

who is that woman
lashed to the front of the
ancient mariner's ship?
did I do something really wrong
or was it a simple misjudgement?

with breasts bared to the wind and sea spray
red hair coiled in a permanent wave
wooden garments plastered against the round
of my belly and muscular thighs
this cutting edge is seeming tedious

who is this woman wrestling free of bondage
paint chips flying in the gale, toes bare
beneath the carved folds of skirt
facing your abrupt departure
searching for innocent answers

I know her. She points onward
she loves without question
bumping into sadness and grief
tears cleansing doubt and fear
awash in the eternal love of you

My friend and mentor, Don Lumpkins, died this past weekend. His death has brought healing to my life, has brought me more truth and trust in my life and relationship with Wayne. Don loved and wrote poetry, though I have yet to read his poetry.
